YAY, its finally Friday! Its been a super crazy week – I actually witnessed a burglary in progress. They weren’t the smartest of thieves, coming back a total of 4 times over 36 hours, but it was a scary situation, none the less. The police caught the guys (boys, really) and were really responsive and kind in a difficult situation. It was pretty big news around here and as a result I was interviewed for the late night news! It sounds like a good thing, but they interviewed me after dark and I wasn’t wearing makeup. NOT PRETTY! Lesson learned – say no unless I’m wearing makeup and have natural lighting! lol!

Some Brag-worthy Projects

With 64 projects and recipes linked up, there were too many good ones to choose from! Here are some that jumped out at me… You’ll notice that there are more recipes than usual. I must be hungry! 🙂

Kelly from Here Comes the Sun shares a super cute handprint ornament idea – I love handprint art! And it would make for great gifts for the grandparents.

Trish has become my sworn enemy! Seriously, she needs to stop tempting me with these ridiculously delicious recipes. I recently made her Turtle cookies and WOAH! Check out these Chocolate Peanut Butter Bars at Mom on Time Out.

Heather of Real {Cheap} Housewives of Texas shared her glittery light bulb wreath. Everything is better with glitter!

What about Apple Pear Hand Pies from A Finn in the Kitchen? I’m going to call them hot pockets of goodness! 🙂

Kadie from Seven Alive made adorable melted snowmen in a bottle – what a great gift idea on the cheap. Love it!

And last but not least, Diana Rambles shares a unique twist on salsa – Cranberry Salsa! I am totally going to make this the next time we have guests.

Our #1 Brag!

This week, our ad winner was chosen at random using random.org. Out of 64 entries, number 18 was chosen – Danni from Silo Hill Farm! I was excited for Danni that she was chosen, not only because she super sweet, but I LOVE pallet art! What a cute idea to add ribbon and floral accents.

What Exactly is a Link Party?

I think three different people in the last week have asked what a link party is. Sometimes I live too much in the bloggy world that I forget to explain the lingo! A link party is where bloggers can share their own projects and post as a way of reaching a greater audience. It also helps build “links” for both the party goer (you) and the party host (me) since we are both linking to each other – the party goer adds a link into the party and then adds a link to my link party at the bottom of their blog post. If you don’t have a blog, but want me to feature you, send me an email with some pix…jocie@oneprojectcloser.com

How do I link up?
At the bottom of a bunch of pictures in the link party, you should see a button that says, “Add a Link.” Click it.

Then, it will bring up some info to fill out.

You will then be able to select a picture from your post to best represent it. Then, go back to the link party page, copy the URL, and use it to link back directly to the party. If you have trouble, or need some help linking up, let me know!!
